Stephanie Mocatta has worked in the insurance industry for the past 22 years. During the course of her career she has worked as a reinsurance treaty broker, a non-marine underwriter and has held a number of business development positions. Her work in the past 11 years has involved the management and implementation of schemes of arrangement, extensive marketing to secure new business and the purchase of insurance companies in run-off.

She worked within the Whittington Group for over 10 years. In May 2006 she was one of the four senior team members who completed the de-merger of Whittington from Omni and also achieved an injection of external capital into the Whittington Group.

While at Whittington Group, She was instrumental in the acquisition of six insurance companies in run-off, two in the USA, two in the UK and two in Singapore. She managed and implemented one of the first solvent schemes of arrangement which was for Crombie Insurance Co (UK) Ltd in 2000. She has also managed and implemented several further schemes of arrangement including: Reliance National Insurance Company (Europe) Ltd; Lion City Run-off Pte Ltd; Reliance National Asia Re Pte Ltd.

Following the de-merger, she left the Whittington Group in December 2006. In June 2007 she joined Independent Services Group to spearhead the growth of its US and Bermudian business of ISG, specifically the acquisition of distressed insurance entities in those areas
